Shibori is the Japanese art of dying textiles which creates varied and beautiful patterns from indigo dye. Created from an original Shibori-inspired artwork called ‘Tidal’, which hangs in the Radiation Oncology Unit of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, the creation of the Arterie cup and saucer set was something very close to the heart of the founder of LyndalT. With a custom-designed decal applied to new fine china and kiln fired many times, you’ll find that while it appears delicate, this tea cup is designed for everyday use and is strong enough to last generations.
